Make Your New Year’s Resolutions Last
It’s easy to make resolutions at the beginning of a new year. But how do you stick to them? Check out these tips from KORBEL on working toward your goals long after the first few weeks of January.
Start small. Resolutions to “eat healthier” or “exercise more” are well-intentioned, but often too broad to produce results. Instead, start with easy changes like drinking more water or going to the gym one more time per week. Once your starting point feels comfortable, you can up your goals.
Make a timeline. It’s tempting to be loosey-goosey about your goals without a timeline. Think about where you are now and where you ultimately want to be, then plot out how you will get there. What do you want to achieve in three months? In six months? In a year?
Ask for support. Never underestimate the value of support. Tell friends, family and coworkers about your goals and ask them to help hold you accountable. On days that you feel less motivated, these people can help you stick to your resolution.
A final tip from KORBEL. As we move into 2019, make it one of your goals to celebrate more. Whether that means spending more time with friends and family, finding time in your day for reflection, or occasionally breaking your routine, remember to slow down to soak up the new year – and don’t forget any moment can be turned in to a celebration when you add a glass of KORBEL.
