Happy National Women's History Month! This month, we're focusing on "herstory" and celebrating KORBEL's very own Senior Winemaker, Erica Mandl.

Mandl fell in love with winemaking during her first harvest at KORBEL. "I love that every year, from start to finish, you get to see and enjoy the fruits of your labor in such a tangible way," said Mandl. "You can actually hold and taste the bottle of sparkling wine you made, from grapes to glass."

Mandl says that she has been fortunate to work with supervisors that are "forward-thinking and supportive" and that she is excited for the future of KORBEL and “alternative” grape varietal blends to come.

If you are a woman interested in breaking into the wine world, Mandl would tell you to "be prepared to work hard. Anything that's worth having in life is going to take a lot of time and hard work."
