How To Pop Open a KORBEL Champagne Bottle

It wouldn't be New Year's Eve without toasting 2015 with a bottle of KORBEL California Champagne. It may be fun to shake the champagne bottle and open it with a dramatic pop, but it's also a waste of KORBEL and potentially hazardous. Instead, try the following steps to popping open your KORBEL bottle:

  • Remove the outer foil and the wire cage, keeping your thumb over the cork as much as possible
  • Wrap a towel around the neck to cover the cork
  • Point the bottle away from people and breakable objects
  • Hold the cork in one hand, and gently twist the base of the bottle with the other; the pressure inside the bottle will push the cork out with a "sigh"

Once you have the KORBEL bottle opened, serve it in deep-fluted or tulip-shaped glasses rather than bowl or hollow-stem saucer glasses. The longer, deeper glasses will prevent the champagne's dazzling bubbles from escaping too quickly.
